What I did
In promotions our final project was to create an advertising campaign for a company as if we were an advertising agency. I chose Backcountry.com as the company I would do an advertising campaign for.
We needed to create a proposal that outlined the objectives, target market, advertising methods, schedule and budget. Then we had to present to a panel of judges as if we were presenting our proposal to the company we had chosen.
This project was a turning point for me, both because I learned a lot about marketing and because it got me a job. This project took a lot of work researching advertising methods, costs, finding supportive data, and determining markets. After presenting it in class I also presented this as part of a DECA competition. It showed me the work that goes into creating a well rounded marketing campaign and a lot of the aspects that need to be considered to be successful.
