Jimmy John's

2011 - 2012

SUMMARY
I worked at Jimmy John's for a year and a half and although I spent only a short time with the company it was a life changing experience. I learned valuable lessons in management, team dynamics, customer service, and even marketing. It was through my experiences at Jimmy John's that I discovered what I wanted to do with my life.
JOB DESCRIPTION (the generic stuff)
Assistant Manager
Run the store on weekends and busy week nights.
Assist the General manager in running the day to day operation of the store.
Oversee the local marketing program.
Resolve customer complaints.
Interview, Hire, and Train new employees.
Maintain safe food preparation standards.
THINGS I DID AND LEARNED
I really appreciate the things I was able to do at Jimmy Johns.  When I first started out I felt overwhelmed, I had never managed a team in a fast paced and demanding environment before. When the Rushes came I had to make very fast critical decisions, to keep the store running and fulfilling customer orders and expectations. This was a great experience and as I saw the good and the bad decision of the past the future ones became much easier. I was given an opportunity to take on the marketing program for the store, which let me go talk to local business and market our business and services to them. Which gave me my first taste into marketing, and this was something I looked back on when I made my decision to change my major in school.
